A web log and more by Eric Toupin
Gained lucidity by looking at the cityscape and realizing I was looking at Denver. Before that was very cloudy. I was punching and kicking, trying to sleep while others bothered me. I was being punched, then was driving to the grocery store with these same people.
At the store and in the car I was being belligerent, whereupon I was told they (who I was with) were done with me. I became lucid when I returned to the room I came from.
I went outside into a neighborhood and saw a group of people. I payed attention specifically to a younger Hispanic girl. I said Hey, rather gruffly, and they moved along inside quickly. I realized I was being too tough and wandered on.
I saw a balcony that I wanted to get to, and by now was very lucid. I looked at my hands, which were clear. I tried to fly up to the balcony but couldn't stop my ascent and was soon looking down on the whole city; then I descended into an apartment.
Things were very clear. The stove was white with green digital displays. I had a hard time reading them but they seemed to blink Play / Pause. I went directly to a mirror but saw no reflection. I tried to force it and saw something old and ugly, zombified. No wonder those people wanted nothing to do with me.
I then went to a different mirror that looked like clouded silver. I had better luck but my reflection was still poor. I realized my address, 1373 Humboldt, my city, my full name. Then, forcing clarity and longevity with what felt like physical exertion, I began looking for an item to bring back.
In a bathroom sink I found four rings, plastic. Shape wise, they were all the same. There was a red, blue, purple and yellow one. Sketches below [not reproduced here]. Each had a pattern of yellow diamonds on it, also pictured. They interlocked. The yellow ring had red diamonds.
I memorized the rings as best I could, holding them in my hands, then woke myself to write everything down.
