Brielle is helping me apartment hunt, only she's also Danielle from Williamsburg. There's a place at Taxi that feels kind of like an office, but with a big, full shower and lots of granite and open space.

I call Brielle and ask if she can withdraw my deposit on the other place (my actual apartment in waking life) to which she seems reluctant. I remind her I haven't signed a contract and she agrees.

Relaxing in Jordan's Ghost

Key West, FL. Change of plans. I've opted to forgo the trip to Central America. Gil will be sailing with a friend (a celestial navigation enthusiast) to Key West once his boat is complete. From there he will be looking to pick up a crew for the trip beyond. I arrived here in Key West two nights ago by bus. I went out with friends Friday night to meander around downtown and dance to some funk music, then caught a ride back to Jordan's Ghost late yesterday.

I am the governor of Denver, and build it up according to my likings. There are some monsters in the city, giants that look like obese people but are much, much larger. I open a special research unit to train youth for fighting monsters.

One particular monster is causing much trouble. It kills two of the trained youth and continues to wreak havoc, starting several buildings on fire and burning them to the ground.

Zombie apocalypse. Two others and myself escape from a Key West type area towards Miami. There are hundreds of thousands of Zombies. We are on mopeds and make it out of town and t an area where an interstate on ramp has been broken up into sections. It is by a beach.

Jeremy was standing outside of Joe's Liquor, leaning against the brick wall in his baggy coat and pants. He was woozy against that wall, with his yellow skin and his flat, long hair soaking in the burnt orange streetlight just like a sponge.

First he asked me whether I had a cigarette, then, disappointed, whether I'd like to go to his house with him. His words came out stumbling, burdened with alcohol and hushed with hopelessness. He was withered and non-threatening, a skinny, weak thing cringing from the snowy night in his big, ill fitting clothes. And so I went.

Hablan Espanol en El Salvador?

Si. Claro. Y Usted? Habla usted Espanol?

Si, un poco, pero yo tengo que aprender mas.

La mayoria de gente en Florida hablan Espanol, no?

Talvez no la mayoria, pero es verdad que mucha gente lo hablan. Porque hay mucha gente de Cuba alli.

Flying with wings through the home of a seraphim, a sort of wizard or something. On an expedition with other creatures. Realize that I'm dreaming and look at hands casually, no one else is around. Try to remember where I am sleeping and guess house in Denver. Am able to visualize it clearly and am positive that I'm right. Begin flying in circles, losing focus and not going with the dream. I'm not in Denver but on vacation in NC.

All these lithe yellow fish in a rolling green sea,
Is it autumn already?

I once held hands with a girl who's skin was pale and cool.
She had a mechanical heart,

It went: tick, tick, tick

Leasing this whole world to her one tiny bit at a time.
And where is she now?

I was a boy then, and now...

Rolling and tumbling in space,
Trapped in that instant of impact.

Blue, blue sky.
Glorious sun,
Earth.

It must be our lucky day. I couldn't be happier that my brake cable held out as long as it did on my little black BMX whirring happily home from the park. If it had snapped a second earlier, I may have been run down instead of simply t-boning your silver mustang as you flew through that stop sign.

"Why, yes."
